Mental Health Awareness Session – Christian Faith Ministries

As Chikomborero Foundation we're continuing our mental health awareness mission… but this time, the setting changed. Not in classrooms. Not in boardrooms. But in a faith-based space. We had the privilege of engaging with Christian Faith Ministries, where we opened up real and honest conversations around mental health. In a space where people come seeking spiritual strength, we also created room to talk about emotional struggles, silent battles and the reality many people face behind their faith. We spoke about stigma, the fear of being judged and the common belief that struggling mentally means you are not praying enough or lacking faith. This session reminded us that faith and mental health are not in conflict. You can believe, you can pray and still need support. Healing is not one-dimensional, it involves the mind, the body, and the spirit. As Chikomborero Foundation, we remain committed to taking these conversations everywhere they are needed, including spaces where they are often left unspoken. Because the truth is, mental health matters… everywhere.

Charity Visit to Glory to Glory Children’s Home – Norton

On June 15th, Chikomborero Foundation visited Glory to Glory Children’s Home in Norton, where we spent a meaningful and joyful day with the children. We engaged in games, shared conversations, and created moments filled with laughter and connection. It was more than just a visit—it was an opportunity to remind the children that they are seen, valued, and loved. The smiles, energy, and warmth we experienced made the day truly unforgettable. Moments like these remind us that sometimes the simplest acts of presence and care can have the deepest impact. We are grateful for the opportunity and look forward to building lasting relationships through future visits.

Vegetable Cultivation & Community Care – Chengetanai Old People’s Home

Chikomborero Foundation spent time at Chengetanai Old People’s Home in Chinhoyi, working alongside the elderly through our vegetable cultivation initiative. Together, we planted seedlings to create a garden that would continue giving long after the visit. The visit focused on service, connection, and sustainable support. Activities included: • Planting vegetable seedlings with residents • Cleaning parts of the home • Sharing conversations across generations • Strengthening community connection The day reminded us that true impact is found not only in what we give, but in the willingness to care.

Sustainable Garden Project – Nazareth Old People’s Home

On the 14th of March 2026, Chikomborero Foundation returned to Nazareth Old People’s Home in Chinhoyi to continue developing the vegetable garden as part of our commitment to sustainable support for the elderly community. Guided by our Agricultural Advocacy pillar, this initiative goes beyond maintaining a garden. It focuses on strengthening food security, restoring dignity, and creating lasting impact where it matters most. Moments like these remind us that real change is built through consistency and intentional presence, not just one-time visits. We are cultivating more than crops. We are nurturing hope, continuity, and a future that honors every generation.

Intergenerational Mental Health Circle – Chengetanai Old People’s Home

On the 1st of December 2025, Chikomborero Foundation hosted a meaningful Intergenerational Mental Health Circle at Chengetanai Old People’s Home in Chinhoyi. This gathering brought together two generations in a powerful and honest dialogue, each carrying wisdom, questions, and lived experiences that truly matter. Our elders shared heartfelt reflections on how they navigated stress, emotions, love, and relationships in a time before social media and modern mental health awareness.Their stories highlighted the strength found in community, family bonds, discipline, and quiet resilience. In response, young people opened up about the emotional realities of today’s world, including the pressures of digital life, identity struggles, and the importance of mental wellness. They shared how they are learning to cope, seek help, and support one another in ways that differ from past generations. What emerged from this space was more than just conversation. It was a powerful reminder that while times evolve, the core needs of the human heart remain the same: love, understanding, and support. This initiative reflects Chikomborero Foundation’s commitment to creating safe and intentional spaces where emotional wellness is nurtured through connection, dialogue, and shared understanding.

Intergenerational Mental Health Circle – Chengetanai Old People’s Home

On the 8th of November 2025, Chikomborero Foundation spent a purposeful and heartwarming day at Chengetanai Old People’s Home in Chinhoyi as part of our commitment to giving back through sustainable impact. This visit marked another milestone in our vegetable cultivation initiative, rooted in our belief that agriculture is more than a livelihood. It is a lifeline that promotes food security, dignity, and community connection. We joined hands with the elderly to prepare garden beds, plant vegetables, and share meaningful moments of learning and laughter. This was more than farming. It was a celebration of intergenerational unity, where experience met youthful energy in a powerful and inspiring way. At Chikomborero Foundation, we believe every seed planted is a seed of hope. Together, we are growing not just crops, but stronger, more connected communities.
